Downtown Louie’s Lounge, Detroit: Had the opportunity to meet a friend at Downtown Louie’s Lounge in Detroit.
What we enjoyed: The inside of Downtown Louie’s is very elegant, with a two story ceiling and lots of wood paneling. Very up to date and super clean. The bar has a wine bottle display stacked to the ceiling. Two large screen TVs over the bar for the sports and new junkies.
Starters: We enjoyed the flash fried brussels sprouts appetizers as well as the sales wedge.
What we drank: Fortunately, they have a happy hour until 6 pm. We enjoyed the $5 wines on the happy hour menu.
Parking: I parked on Washington Blvd. which has a parking machine, it is $1 per hour and you can park for up to 2 hours. There are lots of parking lots and parking decks close by if the street parking happens to be full.
Reservations: They are on Open Table which is handy. On this particular Monday night you did not need a reservation. They also do carry outs which is cool if you find yourself working late at the office and want to pick something up.
